More From Fête Nationale

I tried to post this earlier in the week but it didn't go through. These are more photos from Monday and Tuesday!





One thing I never knew about Paris is that in the summer months it doesn't get dark until after 11pm! The picture below was taken before fireworks at around 10:45 pm!



Celebration at the fire house on the evening of the 13th.



There were games AND prizes.






They were blasting a lot of weird music over the PA system in the park in front of the Eiffel Tower.



ben likes hot sauce, and it's proven hard to come by in France.



While gearing up for fête nationale, we paid a visit to the French Army Museum and Napoleon's tomb.



This is Napoleon- he's in there! That's a giant tomb of some fancy red stone, and his body lies within a series of 5 other caskets, one of ebony, two of lead, one of mahogany, and finally one of tin. This tomb is in the building pictured above; under that golden dome is right where Napoleon lies.
