Wine Caves & Ocre Cliffs

On our way to Roussillon, Cave de Sarragan winery. Actually located within a cave.

We tasted and bought two bottles of red wine. The cave was dark and actually pretty cold. The woman there was very nice, this was a totally worthwhile stop.

Roussillon is probably what I would call the hottest place in the world, but it was very beautiful. Ocre cliffs!

Last but not least, one thing I will certainly remember about Roussillon... baby nutellas for breakfast!!! I love baby nutellas!!

Bought our fixins from the market in Gordes. Gruyere, wild boar sausage, lavender honey, 6 grain bread and peaches. We got the wine right from the cave outside of Les Baux.

Ratch-en-Provence

Got our rental today from Avis. Gave me free upgrade to bigger car which doesn't real come in handy in tiny medieval/roman towns. But no biggie. Today we went to Les Baux, an old hilltop castle/fortress. It's mostly ruins but you can climb to the top and see for miles in all directions. It's part of a national park and surrounded by mountains, and valleys of olives groves. The top of the cliff where the castle is is probably the windiest place I've been!
